NAPSA urged to spread wealth

Cleaning Association of Zambia President Lawrence Makumbi said the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) should award the tender for the provision of cleaning, landscaping and pest control services to more cleaning companies.
Mr. Makumbi said the cost of the tender was too much to give to only two companies when there were a lot of companies in the industry that could benefit from the tenders.
He said the Authority should therefore consider spreading the wealth to more cleaning organizations.
NAPSA awarded a Tender for the provision of cleaning, landscaping and pest control services to various NAPSA properties around the country on a one year running contract to two cleaning companies, namely Maxlin Enterprise limited and Prestige Hygiene Control limited.
“The cleaning Association of Zambia is still disappointed once again by NAPSA, they’ve decided to offer a cleaning contract worth over four million Kwacha to two companies,” he explained, adding that he appreciated the fact that the companies selected were both Zambian owned.
Mr. Makumbi added: “For more than 20 years, the cleaning contracts at NAPSA for over 20 years, have been offered to more companies; we are asking once again, what has changed?”
