The Ministry of National Development Planning on Thursday concluded its consultations for the eighth National Development Plan (8NDP) for Lusaka.
The Ministry held meetings for three days involving the Private Sector, Civil Society and The Academia respectively.
Speaking during the opening of the meetings, on Tuesday, Ministry Permanent Secretary for Development Planning and Administration Chola Chabala said: “We will need to agree on what the issues are, what needs to be done and cardinal will be to agree on the priorities of the plan bearing in mind that we cannot do everything in just the next five years”.
Ministry Spokesperson Chibaula Silwamba told S24 Business that the consultative meetings were continuing in other provinces and the Ministry was still receiving written and oral submissions for the plan.
The current plan, Seventh National Development Plan (7NDP) comes to an end in December 2021 and Minister in Charge Alexander Chiteme is on record as having stated that the implementation challenges had been exacerbated by the COVID 19 Pandemic.
