The Ministry of Health has announced 23 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, 21 of whom died from home. The country now has 199 deaths since the virus outbreak in March this year.
Dr Abel Kabalo said at a COVID-19 media briefing that the two died at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) and Kanyama clinic in Lusaka.
And Dr Kabala said the country has recorded 142 new cases out of 724 tests done, pushing the national tally to 7,164.
He said 119 patients have been discharged, bringing the total number of discharges to 5786.
He added that 80 patients are currently admitted at isolation centres with 37 patients on oxygen and six in the Intensive Care Unit.
