Republican Progressive Party (RPP) President Leslie Chikuse has called on Zambians to make an effort to uphold the peace and tranquility that the country has enjoyed since independence, as it heads towards the 2021 elections.
Speaking to S24, Mr. Chikuse prayed that the police brutality and intimidation of citizens witnessed in the recent Ugandan general election must not happen in Zambia’s forthcoming general election.
He has since called on the Republican President Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu to ensure that all players have a level playing field for campaigning, so that the elections are free and fair.
He added that Zambia is a democratic nation and that President Lungu must allow democratic tenets to prevail in the country.
