MINISTRY OF FINANCE ADVISED TO STOP PAYING EDGAR LUNGU – By Gloria Mumba Kalambo

A Zambian citizen and law student Joseph Busenga has written to ministry of Finance asking the treasury to stop paying the former Republican president Edgar Lungu salaries constitutionally entitled for the former head of state.

In his letter addressed to Secretary to the treasury, Busenga says president Edgar Lungu is still in active politics as he has remained President of the opposition patriotic front party.

Busenga cited chapter 15, section 5 b of the laws of Zambia as the authority under breach by the former president.

On December 14,2021, Busenga wrote to the former President asking him to relinquish his position as president of the political party or suffer losing his salary and benefits.
